Playhouse Disney (US) TV Schedules with The Wiggles airings from Internet Archive Dubs of The Wiggles aired in Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries as well. The Taiwanese Wiggles' TV series also aired on Playhouse Disney in Taiwan, as did The Latin American Wiggles throughout Latin America. In Australia, The Wiggles aired on the block a few years longer, beginning sometime in 1999 (after the success of the 1998 special The Wiggles: Live at Disneyland), and stretched until some time after the block's change into Disney Junior (which occurred in that country on May 29, 2011). They then moved to PBS Kids Sprout (later known simply as Sprout from 2013-2017 and Universal Kids from 2017-present). The group ended their long-time relationship with Playhouse Disney supposedly due to being surpassed in ratings by "Imagination Movers", a newer preschool show also featuring a musical foursome (from New Orleans, USA), and because Disney's television division was now more focused on their in-house programming aimed at pre-teen/teenage audiences such as "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical", and less interested in outside content, as Murray said in an interview with CNN in 2010. The Wiggles arguably became best known in America because of their presence on Playhouse Disney, which stretched from around February 2001 to June 2009, with all six of their original TV series airing during that time. Playhouse Disney is Disney Channel's former morning-to-noon block that focused on preschool programming, which in many counties included The Wiggles.
